My career in Music Education began in elementary school when I accompanied my Sunday School holiday programs on the piano at age 10. During my teenage years, I accompanied my church and high school concert choir. After graduating from college, I became certified in music and decided to teach piano full-time. I love to see students grasp concepts.  It is extremely rewarding to see students understand a concept and be able to explain how neat it is to a parent or friend.  When I get a new student, I get to know exactly what their goals are.  We set long term goals, and we make progress by setting manageable short term goals every week.  I inspire the student to reach their goals by providing tools to help, and custom lesson plans that are fun and engaging. For every student, beginner or advanced, I talk to them about the style of teaching I provide. I first talk to them about the different segments in the voice: lower "ah" segment, chest segment, chest pull-falsetto segment, pure falsetto segment, and upper "ah" segment. I provide different warm ups that work in each of the segments, helping the voice gradually connect them in time. Once they are comfortable with learning the exercises individually, I then combine two of them to help the voice understand the development. Read More
