For piano, I typically use Bastien and/ or Hal Leonard. In my private lessons I emphasize building a strong foundation in rhythm, intonation, and note accuracy.  I incorporate learning theory, and playing with musical intention into every lesson to develop maturity, even in young musicians.  My students are comfortable reading music, and have all the skills they need to practice effectively.  In addition, I have prepared many musicians for successful concerts, festivals, and gigs. I would say that I am quite fungible when it comes to a particular style of teaching. I always try to bring a lot of energy and excitement to each individual student! I will teach my methods, but try to find the right language for the student to best understand. I try to take very little credit, especially in public, because ultimately, it is the students who get out on stage and put themselves on the line.
