Hi! I am an Opera Singer from Bolivia. I moves to the U.S 5 years ago and graduated from the Manhattan school of music with a BM in Vocal Performance. I am currently pursuing a MM in Opera. I love working with kids of all ages and adults who love to sing. I love singing jazz and pop although I mainly perform Classical Music. I consider the voice the most interesting instrument, considering how unique every voice is. It is a "living instrument", strongly influenced by so many physical, emotional and psychological factors. In my classes I love to help students exploring their voice beyond the simple concept of learning a melody and repeating it, showing them how to use their instrument at its full potential of musical expression. I studied performance as a singer at Rimon School of Music, where I got to sing in different genres and ensembles. There I also studied voice pedagogy and have been volunteering as a voice teacher for kids and teenagers who can not afford lessons. My approach to teaching is solely based on vocal placement and having a great time. I encourage my students to mimic their favorite artists and or artist that they are not familiar with. This enables the students to loosen the tension in the voice and to get out of their comfort zones. My influences range from Ella Fitzgerald, to Dean Martin, to Tony Bennett, and Barbra Streisand, to name several. I take what I like from those artists, and add my own sound to it. I had the opportunity to perform with JT and California Dreamin in Southern California for a PBS fundraiser. That band leader is John Tu, the founded of the Sim Card.
