I am adamant about each student growing at his/her own pace. I will never force a student to go places they simply do not wish to go. The goal is to keep it fun, and foster those unique aha moments with the student and the craft. At the beginning of each lesson, I will set realistic goals, and inspire my students to do more than they thought was possible through music. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing my students develop a passion for music, and seeing their confidence grow as they progress. Therefore, it is important that each student learns at his or her own pace. There is no need to over-exhaust them with tasks but I do encourage individual growth and development by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments big or small helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students more eager to learn. Read More

At Northwestern, it was my responsibility, on top of earning my degree, to teach lessons to non-music major students. These student came from all backgrounds and experience levels, and their fields of study included math, computer science, drama, and more. Along with my other students, who I've taught privately for years, they all made improvements in performance practice, musicianship, and, of course, their voices. The principles of singing are universal for every voice, and their so simple that adjustments are easy to make based on voice type, experience level, or any other factor. Read More

My teaching experience has all been one-on-one coachings in different styles such as Musical Theater, opera, oratorio and pop styles. I can really hear the potential in each voice and have been through every stage that a singer can possibly imagine. I started off as someone who had absolutely no sense of pitch with less than an octave of usable range and over the past three years have now gotten to the point of riffing, chest-mixing in the fifth octave, whistle tones... etc. Read More
