My teaching style is fun and goal oriented. I like to meet my students where they are and grow from there. I spend a lot of our first sessions asking questions and learning about what makes them excited about music, who they love to listen to, who they love to sing, and go from there. I believe in building a solid technique through both technical and anecdotal examples. I want to make sure I am always focused on what my student wants to get out of our time together. Read More

I started studying Classical Guitar my Sophomore year of High School. I started teaching the guitar in 1990 at age 18 in a local music store. I was able to perform and teach while earning an Associates in Liberal Arts at The University of Cincinnati, where my intention was to enter their Jazz guitar program as I had begun studying it at their prep department. My teaching experience began in my undergraduate days at Morehead State University. While teaching private lessons to students across Kentucky I also was a music theory tutor for my peers at Morehead. I have experience teaching students at all levels, from beginner to advanced levels. My theory and private lesson students always gained much improvement, and some of my advanced students even entered all state bands and competitions. No matter if a student is considering a career in music or just considers music a fun hobby and wants to improve, there’s always so much to learn! Read More
