If they have had training with another method, I work to blend that method with the Alfred's method during the first month or two of lessons. For my beginner students, who are younger, I start off with the Faber series in the Primer levels. After progressing through the first few levels of the series, I then start to introduce solo repertoire depending on the interests of the student. For my older students, we also go through the Faber Adult Piano Adventures book, where we learn the basics of piano along with some fun pieces. I am kind, energetic, and engaging, but I can also be strict if it is required in order to meet the student's goals.
