I was a member of the University of Sonora choir for more than 4 years, always leading the tenor chords, helping them to achieve musicality and hearing all kinds of voices. I helped them with the piano to sing different voice melodies in different languages. When I graduated, I started to take private students, helping them with breathing and music lines. Nothing is more rewarding to see a student enjoy and become a confident musician! I allow each student to move at their own pace, but always challenging them so they do not become bored. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
