I am a life-long musician who has studied classical music tirelessly from an early age. As a competitive pianist, I accomplished many dreams early in life and had retired from performing by age 18. I took every opportunity to perform - from accompanying the high school choir to performing at Carnegie Hall. Now, I find myself anxious to start teaching again as I can never really leave music behind. Read More

I am just starting to teach in person but throughout the pandemic I taught beginner theory such as how to count, the notes on the piano, and understanding rhythm. I also taught many of my parents friends kids whatever songs they were interested in on the piano so they found love for the instrument first. I love teaching because seeing the student come to class with something they specifically heard and want to learn is very rewarding. Read More

It is important for both me and my student to have long-term and short-term goals. Long-term goals may have to do with technique--for voice, examples may be releasing tension or singing with proper breath support. Short term goals are more linked to repertoire and can be technical or musical. An example on the piano may be playing through a piece with a particular metronome marking. I have each of my students use a practice log so both the student and I can keep track of short-term goals. Read More

I strive to make a true connection with my students and give them lots of opportunity for growth and exploration in our music lessons. It is exciting and rewarding for me and my students to unlock new discoveries and make progress! I like to encourage this by setting realistic goals and giving opportunities to perform for each other and create a safe place to try new things. I believe music to be so richly rewarding for anyone. I'm a Jazz/Classical pianist, composer, and educator. I graduated from Concordia University and started my career as a Jazz pianist in Montreal QC. Soon after, I took a next big step of pursuing MM (master's in music) in Jazz Piano in NY. I had wonderful two years in SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music studying with renowned Jazz legends, and it led me to an opportunity to go for second MM in Classical Composition that gave me so much wider and deeper musical spectrum. I adapt the method to the student. I usually use Nancy Faber series for the young child. I try to familiarize the student with different types of music so he/she is exposed to many styles and periods of musicand therefore, can choose what he/she prefers. Read More
