For Beginning piano students, I often use the Piano Adventures series. For younger beginners, I tend to enjoy The Music Tree books. For intermediate students, I like the Celebration Series. For beginning violin and viola students, I use All for Strings first, then followed by I Can Read Music paired with Suzuki Book 1. As students advance in their piano or string studies, we eventually step away from method books and study staple, classic repertoire by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach. for each lesson, I write custom lessons plans based on the student's needs and interests. For beginning students, I prefer the Alfred Piano Method, in my opinion, it's a very thorough course, and offers many benefits for the beginning student. for my intermediate and advanced students, I use a variety of teaching materials, depending on the style of muisc I'm teaching, inciluding music books, videos, and audio recordings. I try to find out what my students are interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter what their ability level is. Read More

When it comes to strategies regarding teaching I use many methods. I usually will start students understanding the fundamentals of music literacy. In order to achieve the introductory points of this we will work out of a method book like a Hal Leonard Beginner Guitar Method 1. We will understand the importance of understanding how to count rhythms and read pitches correctly. My teaching style reflects how important it is to embrace every moment with a student as though they are my only student; taing into account each personality and ability. I can usually connect with an individual , assessing where to begin. A huge compliment to me, is when a past student enrolls their child/grandchild in lessons because of their prior experience with me.
