During the fall I also have been a low brass technician for a local marching band. Finally I have played in many pit performances for local high schools. I will give assignments and create goals but also want the student to be self motivated. I will not be overly strict when it comes to practice. With clarinet and saxophone students I spend a lot of time on reed selection and care. There are so many misconceptions about reed strength and how it relates to mouthpieces that I could talk about it all day (and usually do).
