I like to keep my students motivated. I like to set goals, not only for myself as a teacher, but also for my students. The reason for this is that if the student is working towards a goal they have a motivation to keep moving forward. An example of this could be the student's goal is to attend an audition three times a year, or they want to learn how to sing for a school talent show. Read More

Practice is ideal for each student. I encourage my students in their practicing. Progress will be made most quickly by those students who maintain the recommended practicing time (1 hour per day). Parents are also encouraged to be involved in their students practice. Taking the time to listen to your child play their weekly songs, or creating a set time for practicing in the students daily routine are good ways to become involved. Read More

My teaching methods are individually tailored to the student's needs and abilities. For young students and/or for those with less voice experience, I like to combine the basics of singing along with musicianship skills to set the student up for success, incorporating lots of fun to keep the young students interested in practice and lessons. For more experienced students, I like to start with warmups and exercises that are designed to set the student up for success in repertoire, and then finish the lesson working through repertoire specifically working through challenging areas of each piece and finding an emotional connection to each piece once ideal technique is established. I have been an active music teacher now for over 3 years. However, teaching is not the only thing I do. I am constantly working on music of all styles with all walks of life. I am currently producing dozens of artists from all around the country out of my home studio. I am also in several gigging bands. Playing live shows is the ultimate reward of being a musician and I like to do it as much as possible. Read More

At 18, I was hired by Wurlitzer to teach piano lessons to children in their homes where a piano had been rented. If the family bought the piano at the end of the term, I received a commission. After teaching many piano lessons I also sold two pianos. At NYU, I joined a dance company that performed lively dances at elementary schools, where they had me singing a call and response song with our young audiences. Read More

My mission is to help each student create a healthy sound rooted in the body, which, coupled with a solid breathing technique, creates an easy, effortless and dynamic tone. From the very first lesson, I teach a fudamental warm-up that addresses the physical, breathing and vocal, and which the student can use for the rest of their singing career. Once that's in place, I spend the remaining time tailoring the lesson itself to the individual student's needs; this may be focusing on breathing one day, while focusing on resonating the next. I have performed professionally around the country, most recently at Bigfork Summer Playhouse in Montana where I also taught childrens theatre classes and private voice lessons. Read More
